The world's finest cornet mouthpieces
I play the soprano cornet in two Brass Bands, Hasle Brass and Langhus Brass, in Norway.
I’m currently playing on a Yamaha Neo with a Sparx 4E mouthpiece. After experimenting with various mouthpieces across different brands and shapes, I always find myself returning to the 4E – nothing else matches its ease of playability or the sound quality it delivers across the entire range. Thank you for making such an outstanding mouthpiece!

The Sparx 2B soloist is an excellent cornet mouthpiece. It improves sound, intonation, articulation and endurance to my cornet. If you are a 1 1/4C trumpet player you’ll find the 2B rim to be very comfortable. Only negative I can say, is that I would liked to have had this mouthpiece 40 years ago……

The Sparx 2* is a cornet mouthpiece that can do all things very well. It can soar with a big bold beautiful sound as well as play the most intimate of passages at pianissimo with gorgeous sound. For those players who play a lot of trumpet and dread the switch to the cornet because of the wild differences between mouthpieces, I highly recommend the Sparx 2*. I know you will find it comfortable, well balanced, and a joy to play.

Sparx mouthpieces have made my cornet playing much more comfortable. The Sparx 4* is a perfect match with my Besson Prestige cornet. I have tried many mouthpieces, but when I tried Sparx 4* my search for an ideal mouthpiece ended. The search for the ‘perfect’ soprano cornet mouthpiece is a thankless task. You usually have to sacrifice range for tone or vice-versa.
I am no top section player, but this piece (Sparx 4E) is perfect in my eyes as it achieves both. I can only wonder what a better player can do with this piece of witchcraft you have created 😁

The Sparx 2* is a fantastic cornet mouthpiece that offers that traditional “British” sound but provides the playability of other American-oriented (but oftentimes American-sounding) mouthpieces. The standard length contributes to excellent intonation and just a touch of support behind a wonderfully open but also focused cup that retains core in the upper register. This design allows me to have a true British cornet sound but also the ability to keep up with those who employ more trumpet-centric designs. Thanks Ted!
